Da venerdì 27 settembre, è in radio “STRAY BOP” il singolo dei BARDAMÙ duo jazz – hip hop formato da Ginaski Wop e Alfonso Tramontana.

Il brano, distribuito da Egea Music, anticipa il disco omonimo, in uscita ad ottobre, interamente composto, suonato, prodotto e registrato dai Bardamù per le vie di Brooklyn, New York. L’album è il manifesto di un genere di loro invenzione e chiamato, appunto, “stray bop”, ispirato al movimento artistico-sociale del BeBop anni ’40 e ad uno stile di vita “stray”, randagio e girovago, che attinge direttamente dalla cultura di strada.

“Stray Bop” è vintage ma contemporaneo, ed è jazz ma anche hip hop e vede la partecipazione di ospiti di spicco del panorama jazz e hip hop a livello internazionale.

«“Stray Bop” esprime in pieno quello che è il nostro linguaggio musicale. Il brano è stato scritto a Brooklyn, e l’idea è nata alla fine di un nostro concerto, quando la sala era vuota e stavamo già smontando gli strumenti – raccontano i Bardamù– Abbiamo iniziato a suonare la base solo col pianoforte, hi-hat della batteria e le congas.  K. Sparks ha iniziato a improvvisare del rap riproponendo alcune tematiche che avevamo affrontato poche ore prima. C’era una grande energia!»

È online anche il video, girato dagli stessi Bardamù per le vie di Brooklyn. Le immagini raccontano di una ragazza qualunque che passeggia per le vie della città, ascoltando musica e “vivendo il suo momento”.

all’Alexanderplatz (Via Ostia,9 Roma),

storico jazz-club romano proponendo il loro repertorio e presentando per la prima volta dal vivo alcuni brani del disco in uscita. Sul palco con loro anche il rapper statunitense K. Sparks.

I BARDAMÙ sono due fratelli, Ginaski Wop (batteria, percussioni, sampler, voce) e Alfonso Tramontana (pianoforte, tastiere, sintetizzatore e voce). Da circa vent’anni sono “cittadini del mondo” e creano la loro musica facendosi influenzare da ogni luogo nel quale vivono. Dal 2000 hanno vissuto prima a Cuba, poi a Barcellona e Madrid. Oggi si dividono tra l’Italia, Roma in particolare, e gli Stati Uniti, dove sono un duo apprezzatissimo nei jazz club più importanti di Manhattan. Insieme scrivono musica e testi di tutti i loro brani e li producono e registrano nel loro studio mobile per le vie della città.
