La voce di Kimberose ricorda all’istante dive del jazz e soul come Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse e Nina Simone. Kimberly Kitson Mills ha anche quel dolore tormentato e intimo che rende grandi cantanti soul. Una donna francese di padre inglese e madre immigrata dal Ghana a Parigi, i suoi genitori si separarono quando aveva solo due anni. La mancanza di suo padre divenne la base della sua espressione e ispirò la canzone caratteristica di Kimberose.
Kimberose ha 26 anni è autrice, compositrice, performer. Ha vissuto i primi 12 anni della sua vita nella periferia di Londra e ora vive vicino a Parigi. Dopo alcuni tentativi su Trip Hop e un breve periodo presso La Nouvelle Star, scopre, circa un anno fa, gli album di Billie Holiday, Etta James, Nina Simone e Sam Cooke. Decide quindi con Anthony, il chitarrista e Alexandre, tastierista, di formare Kimberose e produrre la musica che le piace ascoltare. Dopo alcuni concerti magici, il suo primo EP è uscito il 6 ottobre 2017 e il suo primo album all’inizio del 2018.
