James Blunt ha pubblicato un nuovo singolo commovente chiamato The Greatest, è stato il brano di chiusura del suo ultimo album, Once Upon A Mind, uscito nell’ottobre dello scorso anno.
La ballata con pianoforte è arrivata con un video musicale ufficiale che celebra il coraggio degli operatori sanitari di tutto il mondo che sono in prima linea nella lotta contro la pandemia di coronavirus.
Il messaggio è universalmente positivo. Nonostante la rilevanza della traccia per l’attuale crisi che avvolge il mondo, non era quello che James aveva in mente quando ha scritto per la prima volta la canzone.
”Inizialmente ho scritto “The Greatest” per i miei figli come messaggio di speranza per il loro futuro, nel mondo pazzo in cui viviamo “, ha detto James in una dichiarazione. “Ma nelle ultime settimane, la canzone per me ha assunto un nuovo significato, mentre guardo i lavoratori del SSN, i primi soccorritori e gli operatori sanitari in tutto il mondo che combattono contro il coronavirus. Queste persone sono i nostri veri eroi: sono i più grandi e tutti dobbiamo mostrare loro la gratitudine che meritano veramente ”.
James Blunt si è impegnato a donare all’OMS tutti i profitti delle vendite di “The Greatest” per aiutare a combattere il COVID-19.
