Disponibile da venerdì 29 maggio, “Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil” (Columbia Records), il tanto atteso album country di Diplo. In concomitanza con la pubblicazione dell’album è uscito anche il video di “Dance With Me feat. Thomas Rhett & Young Thug” diretto da Brandon Dermer, con il quale l’artista americano collabora da tempo.
Nell’album sono presenti featuring con artisti del calibro di Zac Brown e Danielle Bradbery, Noah Cyrus, Orville Peck e tanti altri. Il disco include anche il singolo attualmente in rotazione radiofonica “Do Si Do” con Blanco Brown, “Heartless” con Morgan Wallen (e Julia Michaels nella versione alternativa) certificato doppio platino negli Stati Uniti, “Lonely” con i Jonas Brothers, e “So Long” con Cam.
L’anno scorso, Diplo ha presentato per la prima volta al pubblico il suo nuovo progetto country durante il primo party del Late Night di Stagecoach, dove ha ospitato Lil Nas X e Billy Ray Cyrus per il debutto dal vivo di “Old Town Road“. Diplo ha anche pubblicato il remix di “Old Town Road“, con il quale ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche, e si è esibito sul palco dei Grammy 2020 al fianco di Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey, BTS e altri.

Diplo, all’anagrafe Thomas Wesley Pentz, è uno degli artisti più in evoluzione del momento. Già membro dei leggendari Major Lazer, fa parte del supergruppo LSD insieme a Sia e Labrinth – con cui ha superato più di un miliardo di streaming e ha recentemente debuttato con un album. Diplo fa anche parte dei Silk City, insieme a Mark Ronson – la cui “Electricity” con Dua Lipa, certificato ORO in Italia, ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche mondiali e vinto un Grammy Award per Best Dance Recording. Tra i produttori più richiesti al mondo, Diplo ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di Beyoncé, Bad Bunny e Turnstile. Nel 2019, ha pubblicato “Higher Ground”, l’EP omaggio alla deep house music, sotto la nuova omonima etichetta. Continua anche a dirigere la sua etichetta Mad Decent.
