In un anno diverso da qualsiasi altro, e quasi due mesi dopo la cerimonia originariamente programmata, i 63 ° Grammy Awards hanno finalmente lanciato il loro spettacolo da Los Angeles, in diretta dal LA Convention Center.
L’artista della BMG e candidata ai Grammy Ledisi ha dato il via alle premiazioni, nei primi cinque minuti del pre-show, cantando il classico ‘Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)‘ di Marvin Gaye.
L’incredibile talentuoso candidato ai Grammy Rufus Wainwright ha eseguito “Devils and Angels (Hatred)” dal suo album acclamato dalla critica Unfollow The Rules, pubblicato da BMG nell’estate del 2020; L’artista della BMG Jimmy Jam (Presidente Emirtus) ha consegnato i premi per la categoria R&B.
BMG ha ottenuto la sua prima vittoria reggae in assoluto con l’uscita della Trojan Records di Got To Be Tough di Toots e The Maytals premiato come miglior album reggae. Un premio postumo, Toots Hibbert è deceduto l’11 settembre 2020.
