Cinque anni dopo il loro debutto con la Elektra Records, A / B, gli islandesi KALEO pubblicheranno l’attesissimo secondo album il 23 aprile. Intitolato Surface Sounds, l’album è preceduto dall’ultimo brano della rock band nominata ai Grammy, “Skinny”.
Registrato in tutto il mondo, Surface Sounds nasce da un’idea del frontman dei KALEO JJ Julius Son, che ha sfruttato la sua affinità per il blues, il folk e il rock per scrivere tutte le 11 tracce. co-scritto con Davíð Antonsson e co-produce la maggior parte dell’album con il vincitore del Grammy Dave Cobb Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton.
Meglio conosciuti per il loro singolo di platino “Way Down We Go“, i KALEO hanno già pubblicato una manciata di brani dall’album Surface Sounds, incluso l’attuale singolo “Break My Baby“.
Recentemente, la band Kaleo, ha svelato un video dal vivo mozzafiato di “Break My Baby” girato presso l’iconico faro di ÞRÍDRANGAR, situato in cima a una remota formazione rocciosa nell’Oceano Atlantico settentrionale, a diverse miglia dalla costa della nativa Islanda.
Oltre a “Skinny” e “Break My Baby“, l’album Surface Sounds conterrà “I Want More“, la cupa ballata “Backbone” e “Alter Ego“, che Julius Son chiama “probabilmente la nostra canzone rock più classica“
