Continuando le sue consistenti pubblicazioni musicali, il produttore di successi lo-fi Powfu ha pubblicato oggi il suo nuovissimo EP drinking under the streetlights. Con l’uscita, ha anche rilasciato il video ufficiale di “future diary” con Jomie e Skinny Atlas, che è la traccia preferita di Powfu nell’EP. Nella nuova raccolta di 4 tracce è incluso anche il nuovo singolo “mario kart“ ft. Travis Barker, che in precedenza aveva collaborato con Powfu al remix di “death bed“.
Il nuovo EP arriva sulla scia della vittoria di Powfu come Best New Alt/Rock Artist agli iHeartRadio Music Awards la scorsa settimana! È stato anche nominato per Breakthrough Artist of the Year ai JUNO Awards canadesi.
drinking under the streetlights arriva come seguito del suo EP di novembre 2020, some boring love stories pt. 5, e il suo EP di maggio 2020, poems of the past, che il New York Times ha nominato tra i suoi migliori album del 2020. Ogni nuova uscita mostra il palato sonoro in evoluzione di Powfu e rimane fedele alla narrazione dei suoi testi. La sua enorme hit doppio platino (3 volte platino nel suo paese natale, il Canada) “death bed (coffee for your head)” continua a essere trasmessa in tutto il mondo con oltre 2 miliardi di stream fino ad oggi. La canzone avvincente ha portato Powfu alla ribalta della scena musicale lo scorso anno, posizionandolo come uno dei pionieri che ha portato il genere lo-fi al mainstream.
