In attesa di un nuovo capitolo discografico, l’artista multiplatino, cantante e autore Conan Gray, dopo aver raggiunto le vette delle classifiche con i suoi precedenti progetti, presenta oggi il nuovo singolo ‘’People Watching’’.
A proposito del nuovo singolo Conan dice
‘’People Watching’ è per tutte quelle persone sole che si chiedono cosa significhi essere follemente innamorati. Non ho mai avuto un appuntamento in tutta la mia vita, ho passato così tanti anni a guardare coppie perfette sedute nei locali e condividere il caffè, sussurrandosi frasi dolci tra loro. Non posso fare a meno di immaginare come deve essere provare quell’emozione. Non c’è niente che ami di più che guardarli esistere nel loro piccolo mondo, dove sembra che nessun altro esista per loro. Il testo della canzone contiene delle frasi che ho origliato in alcune occasioni in cui mi è capitato di passare il tempo a guardare le persone al bar del college. In un certo senso, studiarli mentre vivono le loro vite mi permette di vivere indirettamente attraverso di loro”.
Il singolo è stato scritto con Julia Michaels vincitrice di un Grammy Award e un suo frequente collaboratore Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo), inoltre per questo brano ha ingaggiato Serben Ghenea vincitore di un Grammy Award per il mixaggio. Dopo aver anticipato il singolo all’inizio di questo mese, l’annuncio e il lancio del presave hanno generato oltre 115.000 salvataggi in libreria che hanno portato alla pubblicazione.

Il suo ultimo singolo “Astronomy’’, ha quasi raggiunto i 35 milioni di stream e il video ufficiale conta oltre 4,5 milioni di views su YouTube. Anche Taylor Swift ha dimostrato il suo supporto a Conan su Instagram scrivendo ‘’Questo è su un altro livello!! Supporta/ascolta/acquista questa eterea opera d’arte. Tanto amore e rispetto @conangray.” Lei stessa ha scelto personalmente Conan per supportare l’uscita del suo ultimo progetto insieme ad Olivia Rodrigo.
