Oggi, gli Angels & Airwaves hanno pubblicato il video del nuovo singolo, “Losing My Mind“. Il video presenta l’alter-ego Disco del frontman Tom DeLonge, fratello di Boomer dal video musicale “First Date” dei blink-182. Il video vede Disco in una grande avventura attraverso Las Vegas a tarda notte insieme alla sensazione di danza TikTok, Rampage. L’uscita del video ufficiale arriva anche con un altro video director’s cut del regista più tagliente.
La traccia e il video è il terzo di quest’anno, mentre gli Angels & Airwaves si preparano a pubblicare, il 24 settembre, il loro sesto album in studio LIFEFORMS. Inoltre, questo sabato 31 luglio, la band si esibirà al Lollapalooza (Lakeshore Stage, 19:45)
“Volevo scrivere una canzone su un’idea totalmente folle che non sarebbe mai accaduta, come se il nostro Paese fosse stato lacerato da razzisti, una pandemia e terrorismo interno, tutto allo stesso tempo… ho inventato cose che non sarebbero mai accadute“, ha detto Tom Delonge a proposito di “Losing My Mind”.
Nel 2021 la band Angels & Airwaves ha pubblicato “Euphoria” il 19 maggio, e poi, più recentemente, “Restless Souls” il 15 giugno. Compresi “Rebel Girl” e “Kiss & Tell” del 2019, i singoli dell’album totalizzano complessivamente oltre 43,5 milioni streams. NME ha definito Euphoria “esplosiva”, mentre Rolling Stone ha affermato che “la canzone mostra la natura seducente di un amore intenso“. “Restless Souls” è stato soprannominato “la quintessenza di Tom DeLonge” da Rolling Stone ed è stato abbinato all’annuncio dell’imminente uscita integrale della band LIFEFORMS e a un tour mondiale nell’autunno 2021/inverno 2022.

DeLonge, uno dei membri fondatori dei Blink-182, ha formato gli Angels & Airwaves nel 2005. La band ha pubblicato cinque album e ha registrato numerosi successi, tra cui “The Adventure”, “The War”, “Everything’s Magic” e “Rebel Girl”. .” The Dream Walker, pubblicato nel 2014, ha raggiunto il numero 1 su iTunes e il numero 5 nella classifica dei migliori album alternativi di Billboard. Un progetto multimediale, l’album è stato accompagnato da una graphic novel, fumetti e il cortometraggio Poet Anderson, co-diretto da DeLonge, che ha vinto il premio come miglior cortometraggio d’animazione al Toronto International Short Film Festival.
Gli Angels & Airwaves sono Tom DeLonge (voce solista, chitarra/synth), Ilan Rubin (batteria/chitarra/cori/synth), David Kennedy (chitarra) e Matt Rubano (basso).
Oltre al suo lavoro con AVA, DeLonge ha creato To The Stars, una società di intrattenimento multimediale che crea contenuti originali tra musica, film, televisione ed editoria. DeLonge è stato produttore esecutivo della serie di The History Channel “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation” e farà il suo debutto alla regia cinematografica con il prossimo Monsters of California.
