Jessie Reyez, cantautrice, vincitrice multiplatino, è tornata con il suo secondo album YESSIE tramite FMLY/Island Records/Universal Music Canada.

Attraverso 11 tracce, Jessie racconta il viaggio e la gamma di emozioni dall’amore e dalla perdita alla guarigione, alla chiusura e alla felicità. Il titolo, il suo soprannome in famiglia, offre ai fan un assaggio dell’intimità di questo progetto. Battezzata ufficiosamente con quel nome in tenera età, l’album bilancia un mondo di stanchezza con la verità dagli occhi lucidi che molti abbandonano dopo l’infanzia.

YESSIE vanta la collaborazione con 6LACK (Ricardo Valdez Valentine, Jr., rapper statunitense), consentendo a Reyez di rimanere la protagonista di questo album. Questo duo non è estraneo alle collaborazioni, hanno pubblicato “Imported” dal suo debutto nel 2020 con l’album Before Love Came To Kill Us che ha portato a un’esibizione in The Late Show con Stephen Colbert. Jessie ha eseguito il primo singolo dell’album “Mutual Friend” e l’ha annunciato all’inizio di quest’estate su Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Note biografiche: Nata a Toronto, in Canada, da immigrati colombiani, Jessie Reyez è cresciuta tra i mondi diversi. Linguisticamente e culturalmente fluida, Jessie ha sempre avuto la musica come punto di partenza universale. Ha imparato a suonare la chitarra da suo padre in giovane età – Jessie ha esplorato vari mezzi espressivi dagli strumenti musicali alla voce e danza. In una carriera eccezionale finora, Jessie ha pubblicato due EP acclamati dalla critica, Kiddo & Being Human In Public, è stata nominata per un Grammy Award come miglior album contemporaneo urban per il suo secondo EP, ha vinto 4 Juno Awards per R&B/Soul Recording of the Year , Miglior video e Miglior artista esordiente, si è guadagnata il titolo di Top Female Debut Album e Top R&B Album del 2020 per il suo album di debutto e ha fatto un cameo nell’album visivo di Beyonce’s Black is King.
